Does Lancashire Eat Healthy? Survey Will Tell

Being healthy is not a concern for only the health conscious but is also a matter of worry for council too, at least for the Lancashire County Council. The council is said to have undertaken a survey that would help in indicating the number of people that are not having or are unable to have healthy food.

Food poverty is a condition wherein a person is not able to have proper (healthy) meal due to poverty. The main aim of the administration is to check the food poverty level and how it has affected the communities residing in the city.

The administration has collaborated with food banks in the city; there are 35 such banks. Lancashire food is known all over the region for its famous hotpots and associating food poverty with its name may be a blot on the reputation of the food paradise.

But this is not what the administration is concerned for; the council has on its agenda, to bring down the food poverty level and gradually eradicate it from the city. Apart from eradication, food wastage has also been noticed and steps have to be taken to stop it; this survey is just the first step towards stopping food wastage.
